Welcome to Camping “Le Vianon”

grundmanLe Vianon prides itself on being a small, child friendly, family campsite. In the beginning, Camping Le Vianon was established by the Nestlé factory from Le Havre in northern France. For a reduced price employees were encouraged to go on vacation in a totally different area, to experience the nature and natural beauty of the Corrèze.

Over the years a lot has changed. The campsite has expanded; chalets have been added along with a large, heated, outdoor swimming pool. Modern facilities for today’s discerning camper are now common place. What hasn’t changed is what the original owners recognised as essential in today’s fast paced world, the need for peace, tranquility and space, something that “Le Vianon” has in spades.

In 2003 we, Rob and Anet Gründmann and our children Denise and Thom, arrived. After a search of several years we “fell” for this magnificent campsite and what the Corrèze region in general has to offer.

The campsite covers 16.5 hectares of which about half is covered by trees. It is situated next to the village of Palisse in the foothills of the Massif Central. The site is named after the little local river “Le Vianon”, flowing past the southern edge of Palisse, and which winds like a long snake through the region. The campsite is near the impressive “Gorges de la Dordogne” and the “Lac de la Triouzoune”; a large lake with beaches and water sports on the edge of the nearby town of Neuvic.

Not only is the Corrèze famed for its forests, gorges, rivers and wildlife; but also for having the largest number of accredited beau villages in France, all a must see for discerning visitors. It is truly a paradise on earth. During the day you will be amazed to see squirrels “fly” from tree to tree and each evening enjoy the delight of seeing the incredible starry sky, hear the owls “talk” to nature and watch the deer graze in the fields. There are also wild boar and foxes between the beech trees, chestnuts and old oaks. The otters and badgers lodge in the rivers and buzzards, eagles and raven float between the hills. Enjoy magnificent views and plants like the wild orchid which bloom in this area of the “healthiest air” of France. Out on the fields the brown limousine cows graze, known worldwide for their tasty meat. Because of its well stocked lakes and rivers the Corrèze is an Eldorado for fishermen, with nearby Neuvic hosting the annual Cock de Peche competition which attracts fishermen from all over France.

At the “Le Vianon” you will find the right atmosphere for a relaxed vacation for the entire family.

We look forward to welcoming you to Camping “Le Vianon”.
